Dr Simon Hamilton qualified in Medicine at the University of Manchester in 2007. He qualified as a General Practitioner in 2014 from East Kent University Hospitals NHS Trust..
Dr Hamilton has also undertaken further qualifications in Anaesthetics, Tropical Medicine together with Conflict and Catastrophe Medicine.
Prior to coming to Alderney in 2020 with his wife and young family, Dr Hamilton worked on Sanday in the Orkneys for 3 months each year for over two years. He was also employed at a busy practice in Runcorn. He has also trained as a BASICs doctor in pre-hospital care.
Dr Hamilton is interested in all aspects of primary and secondary care on Alderney but has a special interest in expedition medicine, diabetes management and emergency care.
He lives locally with his wife, twin boys and baby daughter. Dr Hamilton speaks English and German.
His interests include running, general fitness and travelling.
